1975 Evinrude 70hp long shaft two stroke remote freshwater parts or repair

For sale a 1975 Evinrude 70hp long shaft 20" motor. This has been used in freshwater all of its life. This is a older motor we took in on trade. This does have good spark, good starter, and a good lower unit. This did start and run and the owner had been using it on a regular basis. We went through the motor and performed a leakdown test and all cylinder came in at about 8% which is not bad. A leak down test measures the air leaking past the piston and rings by placing air pressure into the spark plug and rotating piston to top dead center. This percentage is measured with a gauge with 100% leak down the worst and 0% the very best. Most engines of any displacement have some percentage of leakdown. However you want all cylinders equal or close to equal and once it gets above 20% you will have running issues most of the time.  Boaters Dream is a full service marine shop that specializes in good used and rebuilt motors. We have a wide changing selection all the time, however during our peak time of the year we don't get a chance to list inventory any questions feel free to call. We are located in central MN however we ship all over the US. The flat rate shipping is only for the lower 48 states however.
I will be listing a bunch of as is builder or parts motors, we have about 200 motors that we have taken in on trade that we just don't have time to work through with all of the nicer motors we get ready with warranty. I am open to offers on any of these and I certainly will do discounts on qty buys. We make several trips to Florida come winter and deliver could be worked out for a fee. These are all freshwater motors unless told otherwise and many have great parts on them if nothing else. For anyone selling out here there would definitely be money to be made if you wanted to part them out. We just run out of time.
