    Description

Spellbinding, iconic Swedish design! Highly sought after and rare, meticulously hand painted and totally mesmerizing.
Found in museums around the globe, Zebra is hard to find outside of elite auctions. Designed by Eugen Trost (1898–1983), one of Sweden's leading ceramic artists of the 20th century. He was part of the Nordic design tradition aiming for more beautiful every day goods for everybody. After his art studies in Germany, Eugen worked for the Gefle factory for more than 40 years.
He became a prominent designer of tableware decor, like ”Gyllen”, ”Rubin”, and ”Zebra”. Eugen’s artistry is represented at the Swedish National Museum of Art and Design.
Small cup, about 2-1/2 tall x 2-3/4 across, in the Upsala Ekeby Zebra design. I am pretty sure this is a Euro coffee cup.

the cups are in good preowned condition with little overall wear for its vintage age. No cracks or glaze wear, gloss is good.   1) cup has crazing in the glaze on the inside and handle, this cup I have yellowed the picture to show the crazing and a couple lines are darkened, see last 3 pictures. 2) there is a tiny chip in the glaze on the rim of a different mug, see last 3 pictures. 3. the last mug has a speck of pottery dust that was fired onto the mug and glazed over when painted. this is a manufacturing flaw.
