This is a new old stock Linhof M679 Ground Glass Focusing Screen, catalog number 021833, in original packaging. This cut-corner ground glass is gridded as normal and has an inset rectangle measuring 18.4mm x 27.6mm with “KODAK DCS 465” printed in horizontal and vertical orientations. Originally intended for use with the DCS 465 medium format digital back from Kodak, the digital back is a 6MP FOV 1.3x milestone in digital photographic history but the ground glass was never sold.
So here it is available for use on your 6x9 view camera. Ignoring the bold central rectangle, it is in perfect condition and ready to serve. To replace your current ground glass the price tag at online retailers runs from 0 to 5. Shipping it to you takes up to two weeks. This one’s in stock and costs a lot less...
