Description
OES Order Of The Eastern Star Vintage Sash Purple Velvet Fringe Light 68 MatronVintage Order of the Eastern Star purple velvet crossbody sash. Circa 1900s (post-1908, likely into the 1960s).
The sash is purple velvet with machine-embroidered flowers across the body.
At the top of the sash, at the shoulder, is a multi-colored (white, green, red, blue, yellow) star.
At the chest, "EASTERN LIGHT 68" is stitched in beads. A brown gavel is embroidered beneath that. The initials "P.M." are under the gavel, in the same beadwork as the other letters. The beads appear to be plastic with rhinestone centers.
The "tail" of the sash also has matching embroidered flowers and the same multi-colored star.
There are 2" long frige accents at the tail, and also all along the outside edges of the sash. The fringe is metallic of some sort.
Lined with red, quilted fabric.
