Description
Very rare large original Hupmobile threaded hubcap grease cover for spoked artillery wheels. Made of very heavy pressed and machined nickel plated brass. The Hupmobile was built from 1908 to 1940 in Cleveland, OH and Detroit MI by the Hupp Motor Car Corp. Online research indicates this type of cap was used from 1920 to 1922 but I do not know exact year, model, or application for this example. 3 3/4" wide by 2 1/8" high, 2 7/8" threads. Very good used condition with only a few minor wrench marks and scratches. Much of the original nickel plating is intact and shiny with some wear and patination. The face with the raised Hupmobile "H" insignia emblem logo nameplate is excellent. Clean inside, no cracks or deformation, threads look good. Very hard to find, great for your collection, use as is on a driver, or easily restored. U.S. buyers will pay .75 for Priority shipping, International shipping cost will vary based on location.
