Description
Very rare original Paige threaded hubcap grease cover for spoked artillery wheels. Made of heavy pressed and machined brass, nickel plated. The Paige was built from 1908 to 1927 by the Paige-Detroit Motor Car Co. in Detroit. Online research indicates this type of cap was used from 1918 to 1923 but I do not know exact year, model, or application for this example. 3 3/4" wide by 2" high, 2 1/2" threads. Very good used condition, no dents, bends or cracks, minor wrench marks, a few light nicks and scratches. Much of the original plating is intact and shiny but some areas show brass patina. The face with the Paige Art Nouveau insignia emblem logo nameplate is quite clear and the name has been repainted. Clean inside, no cracks or deformation, threads look good. Very hard to find, great for your collection, use as is on a driver, or easily restored. U.S. buyers will pay .90 for Priority shipping, International shipping cost will vary based on location.
