VINTAGE NATIVE WOVEN BASKET

Description

Purchased this native woven basket in California 30+ years ago.
Don't know its origin or the material used.  Am in Arizona now.
A native basket seller said if I had gotten it in AZ, she would say
it was a fine piece of Tohono O'Odham basketry which is very
similar in workmanship and design.
It is very tightly woven - perhaps meant to hold and heat water.
Am guessing from the scorch on the bottom it got too close to the
fire sometime in its history.   5.5 x 4.5 diameter
