In 1981, in celebration of the 200 Millionth guest at Disneyland, resident Artist (and future Disney Legend) Charles Boyer was commissioned to make a special lithograph entitled “PARTNERS”
To honor Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse, the lithograph portrayed them walking hand-in-hand as friends and partners. This image is considered to be the only official illustration of Walt and Mickey that gives us all the relative height of Mickey Mouse!
Later, Disney Legend Blaine Gibson was commissioned to adapt that Boyer “Partners” illustration into a statue honoring Walt & Mickey to be located at the center of the hub in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. Mickey & Walt are looking down upon Main Street, USA.
Charles Boyer started out as a Disneyland portrait artist in 1960. The job was meant to be something temporary, but six months later, Boyer was promoted to Disneyland’s Marketing Department. As Disneyland’s first full-time artist, Boyer did everything in the Marketing Division’s Art Department - design, production and illustration.
During his 39 years with Disneyland, Boyer was named the park’s “Master Illustrator” who designed special lithographs, created artwork for magazines and brochures and was also commissioned to paint portraits for retiring employees. Boyer retired in 1999 and was honored as a Disney Legend in 2005.
This Limited Edition Original Release of “Partners” has become one of the most desired lithographs in Disney history. It is the quintessential image of Walt Disney holding hands with his most endearing character, Mickey Mouse! This Limited Edition Lithograph was produced over 40 Years ago!

This rare image of Walt & Mickey measures 24” tall x 18” wide. It is double matted measuring a total of 30” tall x 24” wide. It does show wear and fading from age and has been priced accordingly. Because it is double matted, this “Partners” Lithograph will be mailed flat.
